Another beautiful day and another beautiful baptism! Yesterday, James Powell Fry was baptized at Cathedral Church of the Advent. There were 3 babies---all boys! Each had their own personal baptismal banner that hung in front of the altar for the service, then they gave them to the parents! Beautiful! (Powell's was the prettiest I think!!!). It was great having everyone there! All except one very important missing person!!!! TERRY! He had to miss the baptism because he is in JAMAICA! He called that morning and we were going to have a cell phone on but the reception had a delay and we just couldn't do it. Anyway, he called and said he was thinking and praying for "his little buddy on his special day"!! After the service, we went to a wonderful brunch that Cathy put on for family/friends. It was UNREAL the spread she had!!! DELICIOUS! Grits/chicken casserole/muffins/rolls/potatoe casserole/salads and the list goes on! The dessert was our family favorite---EDGARS cake! YUMMY! it was a great day, but we did have one minor accident! Kemp fell outside and skint his knees! Poor buddy!!! Thank goodness I got some cute pictures of Daisy/Powell before Nat/Brad left!!! ......Great and wonderful day, getting together as well as the wonderful baptism!!!!!!

No more "PREEMIE Powell"!
He's not PREEMIE size anymore! Our little sweet pea now weighs a whopping 13 pounds!!!!!!! He isn't FAT, by an means, just sweet and cuddly and soft! And, most of all, HEALTHY! We had so much fun keeping him and he is so funny! I love the way he pokes out his little lip when he gets mad! It's sooooooooo cute!!!!!! And , don't you LOVE his outfit?! My daddy would have had a fit over Powell. I so remember staying there for a couple of weeks after Charles was born and how they "bonded"! He loved his Charles and Charles loved him. From the time Charles was born until he died. How proud he would be to know Charles named him POWELL. (But, I'm sure Daddy knows!

Easter lunch @ M/K's
After I finally got the altar down and made pix at the Flower Cross, I headed home to get my banana pudding and go to Michael/Kadie's. It was well worth the wait as the food was awesome! Kadie and Michael are such wonderful hosts--always having the best food and organizing everything just seamlessly! It was wonderful! Lily was excited to see us and poor baby girl, had a big slash on her cheek where she had taken a fall on the sidewalk the day before! But, it didn't seem to bother her one bit! She was fiesty and adorable as ever (On a side note, Kemp fell at school and had a big slash on HIS cheek yesterday! Yes, I made pix of the 2 of them yesterday with their booboos on their cheeks !). All in all, a beautiful and happy Easter day!!!!!! (Next Sunday we will continue the week-ends of celebrating with Powell's baptism!!!!!!!)

Well, as you can see , the EASTER BUNNY did come to the Frys/Hornes!!!!!!!!!!! O.K., like seriously, have you ever seen such an adorable bunny in your whole life??????? I know I haven't!! I'm going to put PART I and Part II on the journal! I'll start with Riverchase UMC pix. They were made with my little camera b/c I didn't want to have to carry ONE MORE THING into church since I was doing the altar!!! Yes, I did the Easter altar which was beautiful but b/c I coudn't find how to turn off the flash, you can't see how pretty it was with candles! Go figure! HAHA...DAISY SLEPT IN MY LAP THE ENTIRE CHURCH SERVICE!!!!!! She never made one peep, she was an angel!!!!!!! After we made pix around the Easter Flower tree, we went to Michael and Kadie's for a wonderful lunch! Then, after we got home, ole GranJan crashed on the sofa! YES, I took a nap. A deliciously, long nap!!!

Easter Joy
As I watch the sun rise above the lake I am reminded of the JOY of Easter. That for each day of rain, there are many more of sun and happiness! As I dread Patrick's leaving, seeing the sun and feeling it's warmth on my face as I type these words ,are as if God is giving me the hope in Him that all will be well. I know that Mary, as she searched everywhere for Jesus must have had the HOPE in her that He did as He said He would do. He wasn't still in that tomb, He was gone. Not gone-gone. But He arose. I still love the old hymn that Methodists (Baptists, Presbyterians--even Episcopals maybe! HAHA) have sung for eons on Easter Sunday. Yes, you know the words! By heart! "Low in the grave He lay, Jesus my savior............. Up from the grave He arose! With a mighty triumph o'r His foes! (altos: he arose! )He arose the victor from the dark domain and He lives forever with the saints to reign! He arose! He arose! Hallelujah, Christ arose"!....
I chose pictures this morning that remind me of the JOY of Christ. Easter pictures, of course, will follow later on in the week. But for today, I wanted pictures to show the pure Joy of knowing Christ as Lord and Savior and the unspeakable and unexplainable JOY you can have by understanding the true meaning of Easter. Even having Patrick leaving, and even being sad, I still have the JOY of Christ, knowing that He will hold Pat in the palm of His hand and that by me letting go , God can truly do great things in Patrick's life. I truly want to say that I am part of the company called "EASTER PEOPLE"! People who are not just thinking of Jesus on Easter Sunday, but all the other Sundays (and the other6 days of the week!) in the year! HAPPY EASTER

He doesn't resemble our little "preemie" anymore!!!!!!! He is smiling and cooing and , what I love, he LOVES TO BE ROCKED TO SLEEP! He was all smiles when Rachel got there, he knows his mama, that's for sure!! He is such a beautiful baby boy!....Tonight, Terry and I are keeping him again so I'm sure I'll have even more pix of our little angel in a few days to post!
P.S. the adorable dogs are Rachel's mom's dogs! WHISKERS, she rescued from the Pound (adorable!!!) whose little face is the cutest thing you've ever seen and RASCAL, the long haired dachshund!

Lily and Katie--2 of a kind!
Katie and I had such a laugh on Monday when Lily was here!!! When Lily came in, Katie and I both were "slugging" in jammies with our glasses on and no make up. Well, Katie was going shopping with her friend so after while, she went upstairs and got dressed for her shopping date . As soon as she walked into the den, Lily looked up, very suprised and said, "CUTIE!! You look BEAUTIFUL! NOW!!!" Katie laughed and said, "NOW? Didn't I look pretty before?" Lily shook her head and said, "You looked FUNKY!" hahahahahaha! Lily wants to be a BIG GIRL so badly and she copies everything her Aunt Cutie does. So, when I wanted to take Katie's picture, Lily ran beside her and they both POSED! Oh no! Can the world handle 2 models? OH! And what about THREE????????? I have a feeling in my gut that Daisy will be EXACTLY the same way! HAHAHAHAHA!...(some of the pix were later on in the day when Kemp and Daisy came by, too! And, yes, that is a CROWN hair bow in Daisy's hair so you see why I say Daisy will be just like Cutie and Lily!)

Katie having fun with a gun?
Monday, Katie and I had fun going to Belk and she did her bridal registry!!! It was so much fun, but bittersweet for me as it now seems really OFFICIAL---my baby is a "bride-to-be"! She picked out her china/stemware/Christmas china, etc. She has great taste and I loved everything she chose!!!!! It was fun watching her use the GUN and ZAP all those items on her wish list! What she wants most????????? THE MIXER! She loves to cook so she chose lots of bakeware/cooking utensils as well. The girl who helped us was so nice and so much fun, too. It was a fun day and I'm glad I had my little digital camera in my purse to document the day! (even if Katie kept telling me, "Don't get my picture! I have a zit on my face!" HAHAHA)........To keep updated on her wedding plans, etc. keep checking back to her cute WEDDING WEBSITE: http://www.jonfinallyaskedkatie.com/home.asp
P.S. I made pix of lots of different china place settings but her good china selection is by Kate Spade and has the dragonfly motif on it
. Gorgeous! She already has gotten several place settings and it is sooooo lovely! She also got a beautiful accent plate to go with it. Very unique and gorgeous! Katie really has a flair for fashion, be it clothes or taste in china/houseware!

Daisy and Patrick's Big Day!
The day was simply put: BLESSED. I can't think of a better definition for how the day went yesterday! That and "perfect" are the 2 words that best describe it!!! Saturday night I tossed and turned worrying about the food (even though I prayed that it would be enough, of COURSE, as always, I worried!) and then worried more about how it would all cook during the worship service (we had lasagna) and how Daisy would co-operate and even if Pat might oversleep!!! All those silly things bounced in my head!!! ONE of these days I'll learn to "let go and let God"! ....I got to the church really early---8:00!--and grabbed a cart and started loading the crates of decorations/extra food and pictures I wanted to display. I got the long table decorated when Brad/Nat/Kemp and Miss Daisy arrived. Natalie had to practice her solo ,( and singing w/the band) and so Brad and I watched the kids. Well, I should say BRAD watched the kids. I cut tomatoes and cucumbers and buttered bread and got things going for lunch. Soon, Carolyn arrived to get the pans of lasagne in the ovens to start to bake. Katie ran in telling me there was NO ALTAR (I assign altar days) so she ran and got some items and Kadie and Leigh ended up doing that for us! WHEW!! Mary Margaret(and Frank!) arrived with her delicioius dessert at the same time Bobbie arrived with HER dessert! WHEW! Then Judy/Robbie and Joy/Mike came in. The sun shone a bit brighter when Patrick walked in, smelling so good and looking so nice! Natalie ran and fed Daisy, so she'd have a full tummy and dressed her in her beautiful Christening gown. She looked the part of the angel she is! All the kids arrived and soon it was time to start! BUT, NO LAURA!! She told me she was coming but the service was starting and she wasn't there. Natalie asked for Daisy to be baptized FIRST and it worked out perfectly! She SMILED when Jack picked her up and held her. It was PRECIOUS!!! He poured some of the River Jordan water out and used it as well (I got a bottle full when we went down to the River Jordan when we went to Israel 16 years ago!). She did GREAT! The cutest thing happened during the prayer! Natalie said Kemp asked his daddy, "Why are you sleeping???" After the baptism, Natalie sang her song. It's called "Find Your Wings". It was incredible as I knew it would be. She talked a bit before she sang it and explained it was for Daisy as well as for her little brother who was leaving to go into the Navy. I was FINE until Bobbie reached in her purse for her kleenex!! After the song, Jack brought up the kneeler and had Patrick kneel and asked if anyone wanted to go up and pray for him. We did and , again, I was o.k. UNTIL I heard Patrick weeping. Of course, those of us near him cried too! It was a beautiful prayer for Pat and I know he was moved and felt God's great peace and comfort at that moment, like we all did. The rest of the service was good too and afterwards we headed into THE WELL for lunch! GUESS WHO WAS STANDING THERE BY THE DOOR??? LAURA! God love her, she couldn' t find us (our church is so big and different now!) and was wandering EVERYWHERE looking for us! Funny side note: She sat in the HISPANIC service for awhile! HAHA! Anyway,we were soooo glad she was there b/c she started working for us when Patrick was about 8 months old so she has known him and loved him her whole life (and vice versa!). I've never been so glad to see anyone! And, not only Laura came but we had over 60 people come to eat with us as well!!! Before eating Terry had a beautiful prayer and blessing.THE FOOD WAS AWESOME! I was so worried about the lasagne and it was DELICIOUS ! AND WE HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH!!! Had plenty---even enough to send back with Jon to Auburn and for me for dinner(I was too keyed up to eat at lunch!) and even enough for me to give to Kemp and Lily when they come over today (they loved it yesterday). The desserts from Diane/Bobbie/Mary Margaret were delicious! OH MY GOSH! They were Great! One thing I loved about the lunch was that PEOPLE STAYED ! No one rushed off---it was great just chatting and going around to see everyone and no one rushing out the door to leave. It was so nice and Patrick just kept hugging me after it was over saying, "thank you, mama". It was just perfect. Carolyn and Mark Barkley were awesome, cooked and had the kitchen clean before I could even help !!! of course, it took a village to TAKE DOWN all the tables/decorations/pack up left over food (not much of that!); etc. but it was done quickly with the help of our dear friends. Pat was lucky to have his 2 aunts there (Judy/Mary Margaret)and 2 uncles (Robbie and Donnie)and cousins/siblings and friends. (only sad thing, no grandparents. Mimi is the only remaining grandparent Pat has and she couldn't come b/c of her having a hard time sitting so long, etc)....Daisy was a PERFECT LITTLE ANGEL and did not MAKE A PEEP the whole time---even during lunch! She must have known it was her SPECIAL DAY! On the way home I couldn't help but cry a little and thank God, again, for a beautiful and blessed day. I imagine that is just a taste of what heaven might be like one day!

The Prince and Princess of WAILS!!!!!!!
O.K, maybe I'm just a TAD prejudiced, but have you EVER seen cuter babies?????? ( I didn't think so! HAHA).....Yes, check out the latest pix of our little Prince and Princess of Wails: Powell and Daisy! ....Last week I started keeping Daisy 3 days a week (one of those days I kept Kemp, too). She was soooooo good on the days I kept her. I also continue to keep Lily on Monday afternoons and, last Thursday afternoon, I kept Powell. So, as you can well imagine, those days I babysat, when nighttime came, the minute my head hit the pillow I was SOUND ASLEEP! HAHA! Seriously, however, they are not WAILING babies at all! The Little Man
Saturday night, Terry/Katie and I babysat Powell while Rachel and Charles went with some friends out to dinner. He was wide awake at first and he really stared at Aunt Cutie and gave her some smiles. He was so sweet, he stayed awake for awhile and then took his bottle and fell asleep in Katie's arms, ALONG WITH KATIE! HAHAHA! I love the pix of the 2 of them snoozing! What a darling boy! He was smothered with kisses from his grandparents and aunt!

More Daisy-CAKES
Look at those legs/feet! How funny is that? Oh my goodness, the world might not be ready for this mini-diva! I know she has an inborn FASHION gene, I am hoping she has the musical gene from her mama, too!!! Kemp sure likes music! I love watching that little fella on his DRUM Set he got for Christmas! (yes, we all told Natalie she was crazy to get that!) It's the cutest little drum set ! He LOVES it! I am getting psyched for my babysitting job starting next week!!! After our lunch at Golden Rule on Friday, when Miss D screamed the ENTIRE lunch (we took turns taking her out!), I am getting worried. But, then, Natalie won't know if she screams while she's gone, now will she?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
...Tonight , Terry/Katie and I are babysitting Powell! Katie wants to go with us since Jon-boy is on a retreat so the 3 of us SHOULD be able to handle Mr. Powell! I hope his pictures that I ordered of him are ready! Unbelieveable pictures!!! ADORABLE!!! Rachel says he is up to 11 pounds now! WOW! He's catching up with Daisy! I can't WAIT to see him tonight! Hurrah!
