Daisy and Kemp

Saturday night GranJan and Cutie kept Kemp and Daisy so that Natalie and Brad could go to a wedding shower (Terry is in Palm Springs playing golf). The wee ones were sooooooo good! Kemp enjoyed showing his baby sister toys and she watches his every move! Already, I can tell, she is enamored with her big brother! See for yourself!

Starting next week, I will be keeping Daisy on Monday/Wednesday/Fridays from around 8-1:30.  To be honest, I'm looking so forward to it! and am counting the days when she will be JUST mine!  I just don't understand moms who won't help their children out who need to go back to work or  just to help out. And my pet peeve is to hear someone say: "I didn't work so my kids shouldn't either"! Weird! Selfish!  I feel HONORED to be asked to keep my babies! Rachel/Charles are blessed that her mother is helping out with Powell some while Rachel goes back to work part time as well as Leigh helps out with Lily like I do.  ( I still pick up Lily on Monday afternoons and keep her as well and Kemp comes over often, too! ). One of the highlights of the "golden years" is being able to enjoy keeping grandchildren.  I hope that when Powell can get start getting out (he is still not able to get out yet b/c of his "preemie status"), we will be keeping him lots, too. In the meantime, Terry and I like to go to C/R's house to keep him so they, too, can go out!  Anyway, babysitting? I love it. I love love love it!.......

P.S. The song I put yesterday, I wanted to write under it but I could only post the song. this is the song Katie has chosen to dance to with her daddy at her wedding. It's another "Butterfly Kisses" type song---it will make you cry and most likely will bring her daddy to sobs as they dance their last dance together! I cry everytime I listen to it!

Lenten Lunch

On Wednesday, my sweet son-in-law invited me to eat lunch with him (and Natalie and Daisy), at Church of the Advent for their Lenten Lunch . They have meals every day ,(but week-ends) ,during the 40 days of Lent along with some incredible speakers. The speaker on Wednesday was from Ireland. (Natalie, Brad and I listened to him via speaker in the dining room b/c we had Daisy with us). It was sooooooo nice!!! The lunch was unreal! Those ladies at Advent can cook!!! The entree was chicken and dressing/green beans and a peach muffin. Desserts were great, too! You can also order a sandwich or a salad plate but who would do that with that great meal?!!! Natalie had been telling me how great the chicken/dressing meal was and she was RIGHT!....Of course, we couldn't walk 10 paces without everyone stopping us and saying, "LOOK AT THAT BEAUTIFUL BABY!" Brad was so proud ! (I' m sure even MORE proud to show off his MOTHER-IN-LAW! HAHAHAHAHAHA!). It was a great day and Brad even PAID THE BILL!!!!!!!! I hope to go back again before Easter!

Double Delight!

Think this isn't holding heaven? It truly is!!! Sweet baby boy and baby girl, fresh from God! Gives me goose bumps just to hold them both together!!! Our little preemie is now a whopping TEN POUNDS! He has gained 6 pounds since he was born Dec.4th! Daisy-Kate is 12 pounds! So , she too, is growing by leaps and bounds!......After going to Advent's Lenten Service, we decided to go see Powell. Natalie said she needed her "Powell fix" and so did I! As soon as I took him in my arms, he fell right to sleep! (I've been known to make people doze when I'm talking!). He was so sweet and so was MISS PRISS. Miss Priss had on her frilly clothes;bow on her head and bracelet on her little wrist. ALWAYS! HAHA...I'm going to post pix from the luncheon tomorrow but the babies deserved top billing today!!!

BTW, my tooth is fine now! I am sooooooo thankful! Still on antibiotics , of course, but feeling 100% better! Thanks for all the calls and prayers and e-mails. Makes me feel loved!

tooth troubles

Well, I had quite the day yesterday! I was at my dentist app't EARLY for once in my life!!! My sweet dentist came and immediately took X-Rays. She came running and and said, and I QUOTE: "you have a MASSIVE abscess that is growing"! Words you DON'T want to hear! I kept thinking, "MASSIVE and "GROWING". I knew it, the pain was so bad, but still I was hoping it was getting better,  not worse! Well, she said that by looking at the XRay she wasn't even sure which tooth b/c 2 of them looked bad. She wanted me to see an Endodontist at Brookwood. My first reaction? I wanted to cry! I made it to the car, but then, when I called Terry started bawling like Daisy or Powell! HAHA! I knew: it would be an ordeal/didn't know where I was going/knew that Root canals HURT/knew we had NO DENTAL INSURANCE!! Well, Terry was great and assured me it didn't matter HOW MUCH it cost (why doesn't he say things like that when I buy clothes/!) to just GO ! So, I did. First off, I noticed the office was BEAUTIFUL!  That made me think,Bad news!  I thought , they have to PAY to have an office that gorgeous! HAHAHAHA! Anyway, the girls at the desk were sooooooo sweet (loved my earrings! HAHA) and I went to fill in all the paperwork. They even have a patio outside where you can sit on pretty days, overlooking Homewood. Beautiful! Anyway, they got me back pretty quickly despite the fact that the HUGE beautiful waiting room was fairly full.I guess that's the ONLY good thing about a "massive, growing abscess"! I was immediately impressed with the "operating" room! A nice flat screen T.V. on an arm so you can watch (and get your mind off the pain!) and the view! (Brookwood Enododonists is located right next to Brookwood Hospital, up a steep hill). The nurse came in , all chatty, and soon DOCTOR DREAMY walked in! WOW!  I ALMOST forgot my pain as this GORGEOUS HUNK walked in!!! Black curly hair, big blue eyes!! SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!WOW EYE CANDY!!!!!  The best part??? He really WAS the SWEETEST GUY EVER! He, too, thought that both teeth might be bad but said he was conservative so he would only do ONE  then. Hopefully, the other one is o.k.,, guess we'll know in a week or so!!! He did the Root Canal and before I knew it , it was over! It wasn't all that bad, of course, there were some painful moments, haha, but IT'S OVER!!!!!!! HURRAH!!!!  I am on some stronger antibiotics and I don't even need the pain medicine anymore. In fact, I haven't even had any Advils this morning! Granted, my gums are very sore, but the horrible pounding pain is GONE! PRAISE GOD!!! You better believe I will NEVER MISS  my cleaning appt's again!!

lunch with girls (and TOOTH-ACHE!)

Fran, Jody, Pam and I had lunch on Friday at the CheeseCake Factory! Since my tooth was bothering me, I just ordered, well, CHEESECAKE! HAHA! We had a great time, even though 2 couldn't make it who were supposed to. I hadn't seen Pam since high school! (Pam is the mother of Taylor Hicks for those "groupies" who love Taylor!). I saw Jody last month at a wedding so I had seen her recently and of course, I saw Fran just last month. We had a great lunch and we're already planning on doing it again VERY soon!....After leaving lunch, I had to go by WalMart. My tooth began to ache in the WORST way while there! I paid for my stuff and headed home, leaving even before picking up my latest group of pictures! My tooth was killing me!!! For the next 2 days---AGONY!!! Thank goodness I got some meds and I have an app't with my dentist first thing in the morning. Guess that's what I get for waiting so long between dental appt's!!!!....Terry has been the BEST nurse, yesterday being the worst day and he fixed me some delicious mashed potatoes. Today I am feeling MUCH better, but I know I'll be getting a root canal so that makes me cringe just thinking about it!!! YES< i have had SEVERAL in my lifetime so I know what to expect! .....I feel so much better this morning that I am making some cards and going through the babies pictures but still not well enough to have to dress and go to church. Hopefully, tomorrow I will feel much better . If not, I'm going to do what I have threatened to do for the past several days,  grab some pliers and pull this tooth out myself! HA!

Big T's Big Night!

Here Terry is, around 7 years old with his birthday cake! PawPaw always told me that Terry didn't like  a lot of attention on his birthday and would put his fingers in his ears when everyone would sing to him! And, he's the proof! Haha! i found this pix when I was making his birthday album. I thought it was soooooo cute!......We had a nice dinner at the new GOLDEN RULE around the corner  from here. Then, after dinner, came back here for birthday cake. The kids were soooooooo excited that it was BIG T's BIRTHDAY and when we walked into the GOLDEN RULE, Kemp and Lily both screamed "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG T!" It was so cute and everyone in the restaurant laughed! (We certainly kept the place entertained!)....Since Powell is still "homebound", they weren't able to come but Charles took his dad to lunch. So, Big T did have 2 meals, compliments of his kids! It was a fun night and, of course, the one who kept Daisy happiest was PAT PAT!

Big T's birthday and Mary Margaret visits Daisy!

Today is BIG T's birthday! Yes, Terry is, well, he's "getting on up there" in age. Glad he's a year and a half older than ME! hAHAHA ......I'll post pix of his b'day tomorrow as it is early in the morning and we haven't even celebrated it yet! Instead, I'm posting pix of Mary Margaret's visit to see Daisy (and Pat) yesterday at Natalie's! It was ASH WEDNESDAY, see the  cross on M.M. head! She was so good, she went to 6:30 A.M. Mass in the pouring rain!). Anyway, we had sandwiches and , (a day late!), a MARDI GRAS "King Cake" for dessert! Even though it is the 2nd busiest day of the year for Church of the Advent, (FIVE services), Brad sneaked away long enough to have lunch and to see Mary M! We had so much fun! EXCEPT, poor Daisy, who had to have FOUR (yes 4!) shots for her 2 month check up. She was a little cranky so Nat got Patrick to run out and get her some Tylenol Infant drops which helped after about an hour. She was so funny , would smile and CRY at the same time! Bless her heart! .... Believe it or not, Mary M. and I had "Christmas in Feb"! We liked it so much that we decided we'd do it like that every year! I loved getting presents yesterday!!! I got the prettiest  cross trivet, made by one of her friends daughters (she made one for Natalie and Katie as well) as well as  a great new COOK BOOK! HURRAH (I love cookbooks!) and an adorable STAMP (That will remain a secret as I will use it on some of  YOUR cards/notes! HAHA) and lots of other goodies. It was so much fun!   ....Kemp loved seeing Aunt Mary M. and he showed her (and NAMED ) EACH ONE of his CAR collection! (Mary M. counted 37 of them!). She gave him another one , he went crazy! That boy can name EACH AND EVERY ONE of those cars! Also, Dasher enjoyed perching on Mary M's shoulder!!  We hung out for several hours and it was just a delightful day!!!!

Many faces of Daisy!

Isn't this hysterical?! Nat had Daisy here a few days ago while Kemp was at PlaySchool and I made a series of pix of Daisy's  many "moods"! HAHA! TYPICAL GIRL! How so:?  Happy and laughing one minute and pouting and crying the next! That's o.k., right GIRLS out there reading this??? It's our perogative  to be able to have MOOD SWINGS!!! ....She was so cute and is growing like a little weed!!! how precious is she?! (Natalie AND Daisy!)

Lilyvanilli

My friend , Becky, sent a huge box of clothes/dress up clothes, even SHOES  for Kemp and Lily! They went crazy over all of it! Here is Lily wearing the BOA/SHOES and SKIRT that she sent Lily! Lily , the DRESS UP QUEEN, loved every bit of it. Here she is, opening the box and trying it all on! That surprise made a mundane Monday much more FUN! THANKS, BECKY, SO SO SO MUCH!
