Memorial Day @ Nat/Brad's (and KEMP!)

We had a great afternoon/evening with Nat/Brad and of course, Mr. Kemp! Kemp is a typical BOY, love nothing more than to be OUTSIDE all the time! His new favorite thing to do is to "wash" his little car ! Natalie says he will play with the hose for as long as they'll let him! He had a blast! Also made some of him eating his "ice pole" as Brad calls it---aka POPSICLE! We had a nice Memorial Day and enjoyed being with our little grandson! He is truly a JOY! A BOY IS A JOY!

Random thoughts

Friday night we kept Mr. Kemp while Nat and Brad went to the Faith Hill/Tim McGraw concert and also kept MISS LILY while Kadie and Michael went to the Alabama baseball game. We took them riding around the neighborhood when the sun went down and let them ride their little riding cars. So cute! Everyone stopped and waved and thought they were twins! They played so hard!! They love to watch the WIGGLES so we watched the Wiggles and danced like crazy people! They laugh and laugh when GranJan dances and sings! HAHAHA!  Then it was bathtime and we bathed them and put their little jammies on. They play so good together  UNTIL they get sleepy! Then they fight over toys and books and who sits in my lap! Both wanted GranJan to hold them and would fuss when I would hold one over the other! Finally Kemp started  really fussing and  rubbing his little eyes so I put him to bed. He cried for only a second  but then he grabbed his "PASS"(passys---all 4 of them!)and then he was gone fast asleep! Lily climbed in my lap and we cuddled under the blanket  with HER passy and soon Big T, Granjan and Lily were all snoozing! Michael and Kadie picked up their little sleepy head around 11:00. SWEET BABIES!...Today we went to Riverchase UMC and then, after an Emmaus meeting, went to Trussville to Alex DeLoach's Graduation party! YES, Ginger's son graduated from high school! What a precious and sweet boy he is! I'm so proud of Ginger---she has had so many roadblocks in her young life and she has raised such a fine young man! I know she's proud of him and we're proud of GINGER! I wish him all the luck in the world and I'm sure he will continue to be a blessing to his mom/grandmother Pam and Aunt Beth!...Tomorrow is Memorial Day and as Jack gave a special prayer for our servicemen and those who gave their lives for our country , I was reminded of Mr. Fry and Great Grandpa. Great Grandpa fought in WWI and Mr. Fry was in France for FOUR LONG YEARS during WWII. I don't know how Mrs. Fry stood it, being away from him so long! Pat was over 4 years old when he got back. I am so thankful for all those who fought for our freedom. I pray this Memorial Day everyone will stop and say a special prayer of thanksgiving for those young men (some the same age as Patrick!) who are putting their lives on the line for us. Brave, brave young men. God love them and keep them safe!

Taylor Hicks, our new AMERICAN IDOL!

WOW! HE WON! Taylor Hicks won! We are so proud to have THREE American Idols (and a 4th who was BORN here!). It's true like the posters around say, "Idols are born in Birmingham!".(If ONLY Nat wasn't too old now we'd have FIVE from here!)... Not only that, but ever since Katie's interview and shots on T.V., she's become an instant celebrity! HAHA! EVERYONE has said something about it! Even at the Nail Place people said something about it! So, congrats to Taylor and THANK YOU For making Katie a star!

SOUL PATROL PARTY!

Tonight was so much fun at the Taylor Hicks "SOUL PATROL" viewing of American Idol!  I kept Lily today and I got Michael to pick her up at Buffalo Wings so she got to go in and see some of the SOUL PATROL , too! She clapped and clapped when they played Taylor singing! It's so odd that I went to school with Bradley  (Taylor's dad!) and Natalie went to school with Taylor! Natalie and Taylor are both so musically talented! We had so much fun and we just know he's the next AMERICAN IDOL! GO TAYLOR! Katie was photographed by Access Hollywood!

SOWG RETREAT

May 5-7, 2006 our SOWG group went to DOG TOWN! We stayed in a cabin in the woods! LITERALLY! IT was awesome! Out in the middle of NOWHERE! Saturday we went on the scenic trail to read scriptures and breathe in God's beautiful creation in Ft. Payne. We ended up in Little River Canyon. Gosh, Northern Alabama is so gorgeous, I'd almost forgotten. SOUTH Alabama gets more attention with the beaches, but North Alabama has the beautiful mountains and rivers. Awesome! We had an INCREDIBLE time!  Just went TOO FAST!

SOWG

Here's the altar for our last SOWG (Starting Over With God) Women's Group that has lasted for 6 weeks. Jana White came and talked on PRAYER and had the "surprise ending"---MARY ELIZABETH---she came in at the end. What a touching night. Everyone was so moved by her story of peserverance and prayer! After Jana's talk, Katie helped me make the candle cross. It was so beautiful! All the ladies loved it. Now we're heading for the Retreat in Ft. Payne to end our wonderful journey! SOWG!

Beautiful Katie!

Here's my beautiful baby girl! Some from Easter 2006 and some from her photo shoot!
